What did you learn today?
We made glass fused fence sun catchers.
How did you show what you learned?
We designed a rough copy of a nature image that we would like to do on the glass. We then used glue to put glass pieces in a mosaic style on a small square of glass.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to wait for the glass pieces to be heated or fused in the kiln and then we will attach them to our chain link fence in the school yard.

Apr 11 - I Like Simple Machines

What did you learn today?
We learned about Simple Machines today.
How did you show what you learned?
We got a booklet that explains each of the simple machines and then we had to read it and write a fact and a picture for each machine on our title page.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to know this information to complete our center activities that we will be doing over the next three weeks.

Apr 10 - I Like Clay Trains (ugh)

What did you learn today?
We had Clay for Kids today.
How did you show what you learned?
We made trains that had symbols of our province Alberta on them. some of the symbols students used were prairies at night, forests, sun (because Alberta is so sunny) Albertasaurus, Rocky Mountains, red leaf for fall- a season we have in Alberta, bones and plant remains that turn into fossils, lodgepole pine
What do you need to learn next?
We need to anxiously await (2 weeks or more) for when our art has been fired in her kiln.

Destination Conservation will also be holding their wasteless bake sale to fundraise for the one use food wrapper recycling box that we want to buy.
