What did you learn today?
We played parachute games in gym today.
How did you show what you learned?
We played popcorn, cat and mouse and mushroom.
What do you need to learn next?
We can play the Shark and Lifeguard game. Please come to class tomorrow with suggestions for other large field games that you would like to play.

Apr 24 - We Learned About Pulleys Today!

Highlights
What did you learn today?
We learned more about pulleys. We learned that pulleys can change the direction of the force, which makes it easier to lift something.
How did you show what you learned?
We watched a demonstration of how we are supposed to do our work for each center.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to start doing our simple machines centers.

Apr 21 - Site Manager is Hard Work!!!!

Highlights
What did you learn today?
We each had a certain job and worked in groups to complete our task on a community walk.
How did you show what you learned?
We chose our jobs based on what we thought we would be good at. These jobs were Site manager, researcher, cartographer assistant recorder, local expert, cartographer, research assistant recorder. We walked down to Barrett Park and then we walked the perimeter of the school and WW. We were writing down the street and building names.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to find out what the names mean and we need to fill in our What Kind Of Worker Were You Today rubric to see if we did a better job at our new job than we did on the field trip.

April 20- I Feel Sad

What did you learn today?
We learned about garageband in Music.
How did you show what you learned?
We explored by putting soundtracks together and seeing what goes with what emotion card that we picked.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to learn how to take small bits of music to put together to make a song that expresses the emotion we picked.

Highlights
What did you learn today?
When we arrived at Heritage Park, we started our field trip by taking a walking tour of the community. We stopped at the Cottage hospital where we completed a Keys to the Community activity. The other group started by learning about Colonel MacLeod's sandstone house. Halfway through we switched. The second program was all about the Famous Five and Nellie McClung. Ask me about the pink tea!

We learned that gravity is a force that holds us to the earth so we don't float away.
How did you show what you learned?
We talked about our gravity information sheet that is in our duotangs.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to go over all our notes and do the experiment to learn what WORK is.

Learning Celebration was a HUGE success! Thank you to all the parents and grandparents and guardians who came out to learn about our projects! Destination Conservation raised at least over $100.
