March 7 - Patrick And Spongebob Eat Fossils

Agenda:
1 Read
2 Blue Duotang Literature Circle/Guided Reading group Work. Some students have homework to complete for Monday.
3 Red Duotang - Problem of the Day - Due Monday. I have put stickies on the pages that students need to do corrections on. The problems have been posted to the blog. Winter Problems 1 and 2 is posted starting Nov 26. It is an expectation that students are doing corrections on a regular basis. This is not happening for all students. Gentle reminders for students to bring their red duotang home and do corrections would help out immensely. The stickie placed on the side of the page indicates that I need to mark the correction. Thanks for your help.
Highlights
What did you learn today?
We learned about whether you should keep the dinosaur fossil you find or whether you should give it to the government to be put in a museum.
How did you show what you learned?
We read through the textbook about different opinions or points of view about the issue of finding a fossil. We then decided whether each of the viewpoints supported keeping it or giving it to the government. We then chose which viewpoint we agreed with. Ask me what I chose!
What do you need to learn next?
We need to finish our rough copy of our opinion writing and then create our good copy. Ms Cowdy will share this with you at conferences in a couple weeks.
