What did you learn today?
We learned that Making Big Words, which is our Word Work is actually our SPELLING program.
How did you show what you learned?
We use letters to MAKE words. Then we get word patterns and we have to SORT the words that we made. Then with those same word patterns we have to make completely NEW words. This is called TRANSFER. Then we make the transfer words into sentences.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to learn to write MEANINGFUL sentences with our TRANSFER words, to let MS Cowdy know that we understand what the word means.

What did you learn today?
We learned how to stretch some different muscles in our legs today, to increase our flexibility. We also did some strength building exercises too.
How did you show what you learned?
We sat with our legs in a wide v shape and tried to touch our toes, or as far as we could reach.We also held a plank position for as long as we could.
What do you need to learn next?
We learn to make sure we stretch properly before any exercise so we don't hurt ourselves.

We learned how to make a sacred bundle.
How did you show what you learned?
We collected materials from the WW. We had to have something from the plant kingdom, the mineral kingdom and the animal kingdom. We had to write about our items in our FAF journal, and tell what each item means to us.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to finish writing in our journals.

What did you learn today?
We learned about perimeter today in math. Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape. The formula for P=S+S+S+S for how many sides there are.
How did you show what you learned?
We got a sheet that had problems that we had to solve by drawing and labeling the sides.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to learn more about perimeter.

We learned about Tyler Enfield's books and what inspired him to write them.
How did you show what you learned?
We sat in the learning commons and listened while Mr Enfield read from his books, "Wrush - Tabetha's Last Task" and "Hannah and the Magic Eye."
What do you need to learn next?
We might be inspired to read his books or to do some creative writing of our own.

What did you learn today?
We chose our Unthinkable in Health today that we are going to make an imovie about. An 'Unthinkable' is a social skill that we are working on in Health.
This is a table group project, that we created our evaluation rubric for. 
How did you show what you learned?
We chose an Unthinkable with our table group to use for our imovie. We had to choose an Unthinkable that we could all agree on. 
What do you need to learn next?
We need to continue with our imovie script and the planning of our imovie.

Learning Celebration Project

Due April 13, 2017

As a citizen of Smartieville, you will be responsible for creating a display for our town. For our learning community project, you must have the following done about your topic:

ü Written introduction about your topic/ presentation, which would include why you chose this topic

ü Interesting title- draw people to your project

ü Researched facts about your topic (Grade 3-five or more; Grade 4- ten or more)

  üHave pictures, models and/or artifacts- a visual component

We turned on a video that showed multiple rhythm patterns. If you clapped the poison pattern then you had to sit on the risers.

We need to learn the rest of the levels in the Poison Rhythm game.

What did you learn today?
We did our archaeology in-class field trip today. We learned about: 

• projectile points, 
• how to dig at a dig site 
• what to do when we discover an artifact at a dig site
• how to assemble a bison skeleton
• how to put together a broken pot
• the difference between a pictograph and a petroglyph (rock art)
• how to tell how old animal bones are by if they are fused or not fused
• cataloging items by colour, shape, material, use and size
• difference between artifacts and ecofacts

We need to find out what archeologist are finding today

We went out to WW and the schoolyard to find things that we could put into our own sacred bundles. Each item had to mean something to us to help us to remember who we are.

We learned how the buffalo got into the pound. This was one of the hunting tactics of the Blackfoot People.
How did you show what you learned?
We group wrote an explanation of what a buffalo pound was on the smartboard.

We need to write our own paragraph in our FAF journals.
