Hi Room 5 Families,
Well, we are well into Google Classroom and our first google meet was a success. I am going to move to weekly smaller meets starting this Wednesday. To help avoid siblings needing a device at the same time, we decided as a staff to each have a different day and try to be mindful of each other's meet times. Room 5 will always meet on Wednesdays and the individual groups will always have the same time. We would also like to welcome back Ms. Brunsch, who was working quite a bit in our classroom and she will be continuing her work with her Wednesday Word Work group in our google meet.
I will send out an email right before your meet and hopefully, it will run on time. I think I figured out the glitches! The times for everyone's google meet is in their book study assignment.
Speaking of book study, each student was in a guided reading group and I would like to continue the novels that we were working on. I was able to find online copies of Bunnicula and Dear Mr. Henshaw, so if you are unable to pick up the book, you can use the online version which is available in the Book study assignment. I could not find an online version of The Wild Robot. Mazerunner students, we are going to do something different, as we had to send back the copies to the other schools that we borrowed them from.
Mrs. Polski has copies available at the school this Monday and Tuesday for parents to pick up. The book will be available in the foyer with each child's name on it. There may be more than one family there, so please follow social distancing practices as advised by AHS.
