What did you learn today?
We did a practice Science test today to help us to understand what we understand well and what we still need to study. 
How did you show what you learned?
We wrote the blue practice test and then Ms Cowdy took up the answers. We talked about how to answer multiple choice questions and the importance of reading the WHOLE question. 
What do you need to learn next?
We will write the test tomorrow.

Feb 22 - Successful Math Night!

4 Thanks you to the families that came out for math night! Our hearts were multiplied tenfold by the divisions of families that subtracted other activities to make math night an addition to their evenings. A student in Room 5 got the closest estimate of the chocolate eggs! The actual was 249 and she guessed 250! Congratulations!

We learned three different types of sketching techniques.
How did you show what you learned?
We looked at a picture of an acorn and we did a blind sketch, peek sketch and a quick sketch. Let me show you how.
What do you need to learn next?
We will continue to do nature journalling once a month over the remaining school months. Have a great weekend!

What did you learn today?
We learned about 4 different ways that writer's start sentences to begin a story.
How did you show what you learned?
We looked in books in the classroom and wrote the first sentence in our journals and decided which beginning the author had used. Ask me what the different beginnings are.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to practice using different beginnings to put in our own stories.

Feb 21 - Math Night Tonight!!!

What did you learn today?
We learned how to make glass yard art.
How did you show what you learned? 
Clay for Kids came with pieces of coloured glass. We each got a square of clear glass and then glued coloured pieces in a pattern onto the square. They are now going to put them in a kiln and the glass will melt or fuse together.
What do you need to learn next?
When we get these back we will put them in the fence. Next week, we will be doing clay art with Clay for Kids.
