End of Week 14!

End of Week 14! 

Important for next week!

  • Field Trip to Glenbow Monday - don't forget your lunch - we are still missing some forms! Please bring them in by Monday morning!
  • Festive Evening is next Thursday night. Our class will be singing!
  • Fill a Sock  Campaign- Running from Monday Dec. 9 – Friday Dec. 13, Dr. Coffin will support the Drop In Center’s “Fill a Sock, Fill a Need” Campaign again this winter season. On Christmas morning the Drop in Center likes to surprise their clients with a sock filled with the things that we all need on a day-to-day basis. Here are some of the items we are collecting starting on Monday: Socks (this will be what we use to stuff everything into), Gloves, mitts and hats, Lip balm, Travel size toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Hand Warmers, Calgary Transit tickets, Cough drops, Travel mugs, Deodorant, Brushes and combs, Chocolates and Candies, Razors and shaving cream, Travel size Shampoo and conditioner.

This week in Social Studies, we watched a video about Calgary in the 1940's. We talked about what events changed Calgary's growth.

This week in math we worked on textbook pages and continued our math stretch. Grade three practiced ordering numbers. Grade four continues learning about sorting numbers using venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams. 

Taylor, our Daily Five blogger reports:
This week in Daily Five group 2 worked on a new word work page. It was Santa similes.We also moved onto WOW#9, we are writing a Christmas story. The stage we are at now is the planning stage.

Liam, our Science blogger reports:
In Science today we asked the big question, "Will a mountain last forever?" We looked at what would happen if we took a ice rock and shook it around. We did a hypothesis and conclusion on our ice rocks and went over the answers with the teacher.
