What did you learn today?
We did Simile Portraits in Art today. We read My dog is as Smelly as Dirty Socks
How did you show what you learned?
We picked a person or thing to do the portrait and we wrote similes about what they are like.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to type up our similes and search up pictures to represent our similes to put on our good copy of our portrait.
A note about Problem of the Day: If there is a happy face stamp it means you got the right answer and did the problem like you were instructed. If there is orange highlighter it means you got the answer wrong, you missed something or you forgot something. The expectation is that you fix or correct or add the missing information so that you can get a happy face. If there are no marks it means you did not hand it in.

What did you learn today?
We learned what happened when we blew bubbles outside.
How did you show what you learned?
We bundled up and went outside to blow bubbles in the cold. We observed that the bubbles shattered like glass, when they fell onto the ground they looked like plastic, the bubble acted like a prism and broke the light apart so we could see a rainbow, it melted away when we picked it up.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to do more cold weather experiments.

We learned how to do our new mathstretch, which is called Winter Problem of the Day.
How did you show what you learned?
We read the problem on the smartboard. Then if we didn't know how to solve it we started by drawing a picture of what the problem was talking about. Then we made an equation (math sentence) Then we answered the question with a word sentence.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to learn how to think to help us solve the problem.
