What did you learn today?
We did our pumpkin estimating activity today.
How did you show what you learned?
We examined the pumpkin and then our main task was to take out all the seeds and estimate how many were in the pumpkin. We chose a referent to help us make an estimate. One group was only 7 seeds away from their estimate!!! There are some pictures of our exploration below!
What do you need to learn next?
We made some mistakes today, which is great because we can grow our brains. Here are some that we made and fixed:
-our groups were not as big as our referent group so we had to start over.
-when we made our piles we missed some seeds, so our estimate was way off
-lots of our seeds fell off the table so our estimate was wrong also
-we at first counted the exact number first, when we should be estimating.
